High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2027

High-Level Political Forum 2027

The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be held from Tuesday, 6 July, to Thursday, 15 July 2027, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The Forum will include a three-day ministerial segment taking place from Tuesday, 12 July, to Thursday, 15 July, as part of the High-level Segment of ECOSOC. The final day of the High-level Segment of ECOSOC will be held on Friday, 16 July 2027.

The theme of the HLPF is:

“Scaling up just transitions to achieving sustainable development, poverty eradication and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs”.

Recognizing the integrated, indivisible and interlinked nature of the Sustainable Development Goals, the 2027 HLPF will conduct in-depth reviews of:

  • SDG 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all;
  • SDG 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries;
  • SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns;
  • SDG 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss; and
  • SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.

These reviews will contribute to assessing progress toward the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and advancing actions to accelerate achievement of the SDGs.
